This isn’t the final design of the site, but I found a decent pink theme. I didn’t like looking at the default design anymore. So thanks to Rosemarie Pritchard for the initial pinking of this site.
I was having a conversation with a coworker about a design I did for my company’s web site. It was a joke design which attempted to take “web 2.0″ design elements and mash them together to create something truly ugly but still very web2.0y.
I used a lot of pink and this coworker said somehting to the extent of, “Pink could never look good as the predominant color on a site.” I didn’t agree and asked for some pink site recommendations in the 9rules member forum. I got a lot of great links, which I will be putting up soon.
But then, as I was responding to someones post, I thought, hey wouldn’t it be great if… And so I wrote that:
So much pink around… maybe we should pinkify our sites for Breast Cancer Awareness Month which is October. Somewhat in the vein of Dustin’s Get Naked Day.
That’d be sweet to get 200+ 9r member sites (and hopefully influence others) to go pink for a month. Could publicise it, get more traffic, accolades, etc. Plus raise awareness of Breast Cancer research, raise money… It could be a fun group activity that also helps a good cause.
Would that be of interest to anyone?
Then I went out and bought a domain name, installed Wordpress (twice… don’t ask), and here we are.
I am looking for all the help I can get, so let me know if you are interested.
