Web sites will Go Pink during the month of October to bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, get people talking about breast cancer, and raise money for research. But to be clear, raising money isn’t the primary purpose of this web event. The hope is that you turn your site pink (in whatever way works for your site), educate yourself about the multiple issues related to Breast Cancer, then take that knowledge and tell someone else what you’ve learned.

Thank You For Going Pink

I just want to write a quick note of thanks to everyone. Since midnight I have received another 150 or so submissions. I hope you bare with me as I try to update the site with each URL. I have a dayjob so updates will be sporadic, but I will get to your link. I promise. :)

Also, as a general note to those who have submitted their stories on this site: Let me know when you are finished and I will push the Publish button. Otherwise I will wait so as not to publish it before you are done.

Once I get caught up I will endevour to write more about the topic rather than the site. And I hope others will join me.

Just heard about this and will be changing my site over tonight . Posting now to let you know that you left colum is hanging over the center in IE 6. Small CSS adjustment needed.

And can I just add how familiar I am becoming with SquirelMail? You can do a lot more in there than I recall.

Of course I usually don’t manage hundreds of emails with it… :)

Though my site is currently inactive (dead, for a better term), I have been doing a lot of work with the Susan G. Komen Memphis - Midsouth Affiliate, so I guess you could say that’s my contribution.

I dont have a website, but I WILL be setting up a URL to this site on my orkut profile i nmy about me section.People need to know…and this is for a good cause!

Hi,

I want to thank you for launching this project, it’s a real success, congratulations! It looks like you are going to spend a lot of time reading emails and updating this page.

Keep up the good work, it’s a great idea and I hope it will do its job: keep people aware and informed.

Cheers!

I finished my story. :)

So… There you go!

Nice grassroots campaign! Count me in!

What I find almost funny about this is that I went pink for October long before I even heard of this site or project. In fact, I have the site coded to switch to pink on 10/1 and switch back to its normal color scheme beginning 11/1. Every year from now on, it’s going to be Pink for October.
