Pink for October

Sign Up Take Two

Filed under: The Event — Matthew Oliphant @ 11:39

We’ve had some issues with the sign up process so we are on to Plan B.

Check out the list of sites and sign up there as well.

With this new way of doing things, everyone is automatically approved. I’ll just be going through the list now and again to remove spam and people who don’t seem to truly be with the spirit of the event.

If you signed up before October 3, 2007, your entry should still be there. Have a look and if not let me know in the comments on this post. Write the info that needs to be changed and I will edit it for you.

If you signed up on October 3, 2007 (today) before the we moved to Plan B, take a look for your site in the list (it will be toward the end). If it isn’t there, give me a until tomorrow. Some sites came in while I was doing the data transfer from here to the new list. I will manually add those today. If you don’t see it by tomorrow, please resubmit. I hope to capture 99% of the submissions so far, which means I might miss one or two.

Let me know in the comments if you have any problems with the new sign up process.

I still don’t know what the issues were with the previous application. The code seemed fine and Media Temple was working with me on a daily basis to track down issues. My thanks to Zach for all the hard work and to Destiny at MT.

Lastly, thanks to Kevin Hale of wufoo.com for helping me out so much.

Tomorrow or Friday I hope to get back to my planned schedule of posting about the issues and no longer have to worry about the sign ups. Thank you everyone for you patience. I am sorry if some of you had a bad experience signing up.

  1. My blog fell off your list somewhere during the transfer.

  2. My site went missing, too. And after you so nicely manually corrected my title.

I resubmitted it (Le monde de fromage de Kate) before reading this entry. Hope it doesn’t cause any trouble.

  3. @Jen, I added yours in.

@Kate, thanks for adding it. The data was in two different tables (if you care a whit about databases :) and merging them was tricky. That’s why we lost some.

  4. Good day to you Matthew,
just a note – when I try to view sites 101-200 the page doesn’t load the data.

  5. Jennifer,

What OS and browser are you using? I can see it okay and so does Tammie.

  10. Thanks!

I was, at times in my life, deeply invested in databases. Though I’ve put that era behind me for the moment, I can – to some extent – appreciate what you’ve been suffering.

  11. This is a great cause. My brother has recently completed the Crumball Rally to raise funds for Breast Cancer Awareness. I have turned as much of Tranquillizer pink as I can at the moment.
