To all our sponsors, thank you very much! :D Without your generosity, there would be no contest! So if you haven’t bookmarked Pink for October, what are you waiting for? See you then! :D

If you’d noticed, we have more sponsors now than we have contests (remember I was planning on 2 contests per week, on Mondays and Thursdays, for four weeks?). But that shouldn’t be a problem. We’ll figure things out along the way. I’m sure.

P/S: We are no longer accepting sponsorships because we now have 4 extra prizes, and I need to think of more contests so that those prizes can be given away before October ends. And I’m not exactly a creative person, LOL.

Since I initially contacted him to discuss a mini-site I was working on, Matthew and I have been in discussions surrounding the idea of creating a page on this site specifically geared toward men and their issues surrounding breast cancer. We both have the same goal: increasing awareness of breast cancer among men, increasing communication between both men and women, and discussing the specific issues men face when dealing their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a friend, family member, or partner.

To that end, I’ve spent the last couple of days working on what I think the page should contain, including information and statistics about breast cancer in men and resources for men to get help. However, I am only one person. Since this site is designed to serve a greater purpose — helping support breast cancer awareness and research — it seems only fair to ask for feedback from everyone.

So, to the men in the audience, what sort of resources would you like to see included on this page? Is there anything you feel would be particularly helpful to yourself or other men? For women, who suffer from drastically higher cases than men, how can we help promote discussion of breast cancer between the genders? How can men support the women in their lives? How can they support themselves? So, if you have any ideas (any at all) feel free to leave a comment on this post or, if you feel more comfortable doing so, e-mail me.

The idea of setting up a discussion forum for the site has also come up on a number of occasions. The idea would be to hopefully extend the conversation and dialog between members past the month of October. What are everyone’s thoughts?

Whew, that was a lot to spill out of my head. Thank you to everyone who has shown support for this project. We have already received a submission for the ‘Share’ section of the site, but would love to see more. If you have anything at all to contribute, feel free! Thank you again and let’s see how we can make this event a smashing success!

Cheers,
