My wife is my hero she served in the United States Navy and she went to fight for our freedom in Desert Storm. Not long after she had retired from the Navy the doctors found breast cancer. It was the hardest thing I had ever went thru but my wife Antonia was a soldier thru another war, a war on cancer. Every year we go to the cancer walk it makes me tear up with happiness every time i walk around the track holding her hand to help fight cancer. Along with the cancer she also has a brain tumor that she had recieved while over in Iraq. Freedom doesn't come cheap and I believe that we should all do more to thank our United States soldiers not just on veterans day but everyday

That's was heart wrenching to read but I'm glad you made it through the treatment. I used to work at a cancer treatment and research facility and I've seen a lot of people in your condition. Most made it through ok and some didn't.

It's nice that you are raising awareness of cancer. We should all take note; both men and women.

Fundraiser wrote: "All I can say, is that if I was starving, and somebody offered me a bite of their sandwich, I wouldn’t complain because they weren’t giving me the whole thing."

Imagine how the somebody offering you a bite got the sandwich: selling stickers that say, "let's feed the starving". Giving a bite of the whole is not feeding the starving! Well not the real starving ... the only starving getting fed in this scenario is 'somebody' who decided to market your starvation and thereby boosts 'somebody's' image. While you're still going to die from starvation, 'somebody' has plenty to eat--in the name of Fundraiser (RIP).

It sickens me too. I support raising awareness. I support raising money for cancer research and for the women. I support all the pink stuff being sold if the profits are for breast cancer research. I support the idea if the idea is, "It's October, sells on pink stuff go to breast cancer research" ... But seems the idea is, "It's October, let's sell pink stuff and make more money".

I lost my mom and my brother to cancer ... I hate the idea of businesses and individuals making money off their battles. I've been thinking about selling art and donating ALL of the proceeds for sarcoma research (my brother died this year to ostesarcoma); however, I would create a totally separate online shop not linked in any way to my attempt of selling for my profit. I realize that businesses in the 'real' world may not have that ability, but they have the ability to allow the motivation to be from a stance of: pink = selling for breast cancer research, not pink = slapping pink on products to make money (Disgusting!!!!!!). I don't want to make a dime off the lives of my loved ones.

Donate directly to the cancer research funds or perhaps directly to a family who needs money due to the toll cancer has taken on their income. Imagine a cancer patient being put on disability and having to go to a pawn shop in order to get money for groceries, electric ... the things that should be least of concern during the battle for his/her life. I'm sorry brother.

I completely agree with you. I take it one step further. There are cures, better treatments and better prevention techniques for cancer that have been out for years, however even with all this money nothing is really being accomplished. What I mean by accomplished is being made available to the masses. There is so much misinformation and scare tactics generated by the pharmaceuticals companies and their greed. I personally boycott pink and will not buy anything with pink ribbons or do walks, or bake sales or anything. I believe this is all a mass media hoax and we are all being duped. I won't be scared into giving money that pays for huge salaries at pharmaceutical companies. They are stealing our money and our health. It is all a scam.

My awareness level will be different after this year for sure! Of all the stuff I’ve seen online, this initiative by far is the most exciting too!
